Hi, I´m Andrea Reichhart, a german based artist living in Sankt Wendel close to the french border.
I´ve studied jazz vocals at the Conservatory of the Arts in Amsterdam/NL striving to find my own voice and style.
Being a professional jazz singer and songwriter I published various CDs and played many concerts in Germany and Europe.
I started painting again in the pandemic when live music was stopped. It felt like a new creative era and painting patiently waited for me to come back to continue where I stopped 25 years ago.
"I see so much beauty in raw shapes."
I approach art like I sing jazz: intuitive, playful and fully present to what I feel in that very moment.
The process of creation is where I feel vibrant and connected with source. I trust the process and immerse in a dance of shape, color and flowing lines.
Following the beauty of simplicity is my compass: the charisma of a raw shape, the radiance of lush colors and washed hues, the expressive and rough line of a black brushstroke.
Black is my favorite spice.
I love the elegance of nudes and neutral shades and the contrast they create.
Just like in music space is essential for my art. It invites the viewer to linger on a detail, let the eyes follow the fine lines and discover new structures in the negative space.
Stepping back and taking a fresh perspective is key for me to create a unique piece of art.
I seek to create paintings with a focus on aesthetics, minimalism and a modern, bold expression.
So it does not take over a room, but becomes part of the home with a timeless expression and harmonious radiance.
A painting you fall in love with is like an energetic recharger for your soul any time you enter the room.
My inspiration I draw from nature and my love for the Mediterranean: its warm colors, endless landscapes, its architecture and especially the stunning beauty of roman buildings.
"To create a special shade I easily lose track of time."
It´s a lot of fun and I lose track of time to create a special shade - even when it takes an hour.
Acrylic is the medium of my choice.
I prefer painting large scale on canvas as I love the space-filling expression a large painting has.
I also enjoy painting on high quality watercolor paper so you will always find a fine collection in my portfolio.
